1. Getting off the plane
You disembark by jet bridge or stairs depending on where the plane parks. It's a short walk to the arrivals building — no internal train or shuttle.
2. Immigration
First stop. Hand over your passport and the e-ticket QR, they take your photo, and you're through. In high season there can be a queue — another reason your pickup shouldn't depend on exact minutes.
3. Luggage
There's a baggage belt area. Check the screens for your flight and wait for your bag. Trolleys are usually available; if a porter helps, the customary tip is a dollar or two per bag.
4. Customs
After collecting your bags you pass through customs. Usually you hand over the declaration and continue. Sometimes there's an inspection — if you have something to declare, declare it.
5. The exit: this is where your driver is
Walking out of arrivals, the important part begins: finding who's waiting for you. With a booked transfer there's someone holding a sign with your name. If you don't see the sign, don't wander — message us on WhatsApp with your flight number and it's sorted in a minute.
What to avoid on the way out
- —Don't accept the first car that approaches you without an agreed price.
- —Don't let someone “help” with your luggage unless they're part of your service.
- —Don't pay anyone in advance who hasn't given you a receipt.
Total time
From stepping off the plane to sitting in the car is usually 30–45 minutes without big queues. Then add your drive: about 30 minutes to Bavaro, 25 to Cap Cana, 50 to Uvero Alto.
